A poor student
When I was in elementary school, I could not sit still, or pay attention. I was not a very good student, and my mom, who taught at the same school, would have to endure her colleagues' complaints about me.
At age 12, it clicked, however.
I realized that it was not only up to the teacher to teach, but also up to me to learn.
It sounds obvious, but to a pre-teen, it certainly wasn't.
And the same goes for the workplace. Especially early in your career.
Learning comes when you seek it out, and when you are open to it. Take responsibility for it.
