Across from me sat a founder who was struggling with how he dealt with a thorny personnel situation in the office.
He wanted a do-over. He wanted to be better.
Borrowing from Alan Watts, I said: “You're under no obligation to be the same person you were 5 minutes ago.”
He lit up and went back out to deal with it.
It is a good reminder that even if we do something we are not proud of, we can always come back and be a (slightly) different person and do better
