Don't look at the trees

When you ski or snowboard and you do it off-piste, where there might be trees, you learn not to look at the trees.

If you do, you are more likely to hit them.

It is similar to when driving your car, where you look, your car will go, that is why you look far ahead in the curves when racing on the track

The same goes for your business or career. Where you look is where you are headed.

So look at what you aspire to accomplish, be that a role or a business. And then move sure-footed towards that.
